MEET anna

Hi!

I'm Anna - great to meet you.

I have always enjoyed being creative, learning something new and - with a background in education - inspiring others to learn too.

My journey with block printing started when I was enticed to the Indian Block Printing Company's stand at the Creative Craft show in Birmingham. The sight of all of the wonderful blocks like a tractor beam pulling me in. I bought a starter kit and was instantly hooked. I love the simplicity of the process as well as the beauty of each print.

I am very fortunate to be an Indian Block Printing Company certified tutor, who aims to make workshops as fun and friendly as possible. Whether creating colourful cushions, or totally amazing tote bags, I am confident that you will be pleased with what you produce - and hopefully will become a printing addict like me.

MEET the heritage craft of

Indian Block Printing

Block printing is a traditional method of decorating fabric and paper by hand. It involves carving a pattern into a wooden block, applying dye or ink to the block, and pressing it onto the material to transfer the design. This technique has thrived in India since at least the twelfth century, and the country is still recognised today for its high-quality block-printed fabrics.

The Indian Block Printing Company, based in Oxfordshire, is the UK’s leading supplier of block printing tools and materials. Beyond providing high-quality supplies, they are dedicated to inspiring others—encouraging creativity, craftsmanship, and confidence through the joy of making.
